Ashley Barrett likes to talk. She also likes music. She also likes fashion. She also likes history, and photography, and sewing, and reading, and writing, and rainy days. But mostly, she just really likes to talk to people. And she likes it when they talk to her.
She was born in San Diego, California, lives in Riverside, California, and will soon be moving to Corvallis, Oregon to attend Oregon State University. She will be a music major. She is the oldest of 7 kids, all of whom were homeschooled. She has made it her life's goal to shatter the perpetuated homeschool stereotype. She says "tissue" instead of "kleenex," and "blouse" instead of "shirt." She has a list of 10 favourite words. They are as follows:

There are more that she loves (including "snarky." Just try and say it without a smile.), but these are her favourites. She spells things the British way. Ashley is an Anglophile of the worst kind. She thinks she's a faerie too. She believes in love, and joy and happiness. She is a young soul, with an old mind. She feels too much, thinks too hard, trusts too easily, and loves with all her heart. She is old-fashioned and not interested in changing that. While at times Ashley can be cynical and sarcastic, she sees the world through rose- coloured glasses, and with stars in her eyes. She is fairly convinced the song Windy by The Association was written about her. She was trained in Opera and loves it. She still bites her nails, she drinks too much coffee, and has never been known to turn down a sweet. She collects fortune cookie fortunes, but never reads her horoscope. When she grows up she would like to be a cross between Judy Garland, Helena Bonham Carter, Dorothy Gale, Anne Shirley, Nancy Drew, and a faerie. She is trying to like tea, with little success.
