Back in the beginning of April, my sister Bri and I went out after work in search of a place to do take some pictures. There was a small field with a couple abandoned shacks near where I took these so we headed over there first It ended up being ridiculously fun!
On Bri:
Cardigan-?
Dress- Thrifted
Shoes- Cole Hann
The location was just perfect! The lighting was better than anything I could have asked for! W have no idea what this place was, or what it belonged to, but I think that added to it's charm. I was, of course freaking out about snakes and mice while Bri was really worried about bats. Things are very exciting when we go exploring.
On Me:
Dress- Vintage
Shoes- Vintage
(someone watched Zooey Deschanel on Jimmy Kimmel before doing their hair that morning)
I realized when I was editing these that in almost all my pictures, I look less than thrilled to be there, which was not the case. I guess I'm just a moody photo taker.
I think this was one of my favourites from the whole day. The designer shoes and the graffiti are really cool in my head.
These are my other favourites. Bri absolutely hates them, but I think they are totally cool! They're like bad ass girl band photos. Basically. After we were done here we drove over to the Rubidoux Bridge. The Rubidoux Bridge was built in 1932, was absolutely gorgeous and then destroyed so that a modern road could be put up 50 yards from where the original was. They left the entrances to the bridge and built a dog park by it. Welcome to Riverside. I might add that the bridge is supposed to go over the Santa Ana River (cuz y'know RIVER-side) except the Santa Ana river doesn't exist anymore because the water was diverted to quench the thirst of Los Angeles. Welcome to Riverside. Also this is how Bri looks at me 99% of the time. I call it her "really, Ashley?" look.
Ah! A smile!
It should be noted that am terrified of heights and this thing was like 20 feet up. The things I do for you people. Oh also the soles of my shoes are leather and lets just say that not all these rocks were made by nature, and apparently concrete "rocks" and leather soles are not a good combo.
My tongue hanging out is code for "I am going to die doing this. Great."
Oh. So that's why people think I'm 15.
(Bri was really, really excited about this photo. She took about 20 trying to get the angle right.)
These are the little tower things at the entrance to the old bridge. See how pretty they were.
By the way, I am two years older than Bri and 5'6". Bri is 6'. It's not that I am a shortie, but that she is a giant.
This is my favourite shot of me from the whole thing.
Then I lost my balance as Bri began snapping again. No I did no pose for this, I am just a klutz.
This is a special treat for you because there was actually water in the River bed thanks to the rain from the week before. Only for you guys.
And that was our fun little photoshoot. There are about a million more on my flickr here.
