It's hot. I've been trying to keep my discussion of the weather down to a minimum this year. I feel like I can't really complain when I know I'm getting out of the heat early and will be living in a place that has real seasons. I guess I've worked it out in my mind that it's just my penance. But seriously, it's hard to get dressed each day when by 8am it's already 83 degrees outside. Not cool. Pun intended.

By last Thursday, I had given up. I'd been a really good sport about the whole heat thing, but I have had enough. It's gross. I want to drink cocoa and mulled cider. I want to have a fire in the fireplace. I want to knit without getting hot just from the thought. I put this on in an effort to beat the heat (okay, I sit right under the A/C at work so I always wear a cardigan, but other than these photos I didn't wear the cardigan outside. Except for in the car because then I don't get sunburned just from driving. That is really irritating.). My hair had been like that for three days. I only wore a light dusting of powder on my face, a bit of eyeliner and some mascara. anything else would have melted off anyways. These shoes seem to be my go-to shoes on ridiculously hot days. Which makes me very glad for them. I knew it was destiny.

I blame this on the heat. Yeah we'll go with that...

Anyway, when I got out of the car after work I caught a glimpse of my shadow and told Chelsea that I looked like a hobo. Then we observed my shadow a moment longer and determined that I actually looked like a Gibson Girl Hobo. Then Chelsea told me that I had to blog this outfit since it had such a ridiculous character. So I did. And the heat got to me. The End.

  1. Love this outfit! The dress you made is darling, and your hair looks fantastic. I agree, it's hard to not talk about the about the heat when it affects the way you have to dress. I wish fall would come soon, too!
