These are photos of light skinned slave children from the 1860's used to raise money for African-American Schools.
I think these photos are absolutely stunning! The details on the clothing is beautiful. Initially when I saw these all I could think was why on earth people thought it was a good idea to dress up little kids in such fancy clothes, but on second thought, I think I'd have loved parading about in such finery. A girl can dream right?
